i have just finished the sashiko project last week.I have been working on developing my skills on CAD by using photoshop.
I have learnt how to do different effects on images which is useful for illustration boards and other boards. The effects can make the boards look more proffesional and presentable.
Here is an example of what i have been doing.

Here shows the steps for filling in and making a new pattern.
We have been given a new brief in technical studies we have been told to collect a few fashion images ir garments that we like and then we have to pick one and then make it how it exaclty is.
I Think this will be a good project as we will actually be making a garment.

return to college after xmas…
over christmas we got given a breif for sashiko japanese textiles…so i have been researching the cultures and history about sashikos..
and kimonos…making process samples and experimenting with diffrent materials for different illustrations.
I also have been working on my lecture studies for jane where i have created handouts for the class for my presentations..
we had to choose two fashion illustrators…one past illustrator and one modern illustrator.
I chose Rene Gruau for my past illustrator ..i loved his work it is very unique and different using a very sketchy yet neat manor for his illustrations…it also looks very modern even tho his work is quite old.
my modern illustrator is lauren Bishop who is great too she has worked with ikea, topshop, harrods and many more ..also for designers advertising there products in a unique way…
So today i will be going to the library to get some more info and research on japanese sashiko.

Busy week…
Last week was very busy…lots of work.
I have done my two shop reports which went well ….now i am focusing on my visual which is going well to i just need more in the sketchbook… so far things are going well which is good..i have done some good done samples which took time but are good.
This week i am going to continue doing lots more samples and sketches ….For my visual i have been basing my research on plants..i have found a relly good book which really inspires me ..the private life of plants by david attenborough… at first when i started this research i though great …this wont inspire me much but i am suprised how much i have got out of these exotic plants…so i am pleased that i have chosen plants to base my research on…i am now gong to start turning my designs into the opposite by changing the colours but still keeping some aspects such as texture structure and shape…for example turn a petaled skirt into a balck leather petal skirt with studs….

the past week…
I have been working on making a board with my favourite designers and playing around with effects in photoshop…using tools such as lassso , magic wand and different ways to cut out the image from the background and make it into a single person….

Workwear….
We have been given a brief and we had to chose a certain person out of a list of different jobs …i have chosen the cosmetic doctor who wear 70% black .I think she would be inspired by the 80′s and like bright colours to tone down the black …we had to create a mood board ..containing lots of images , fabrics and things associating to her trend and her lifestyle . This board really summarises what the person is like and get a real look into what trend she wears…
Now we are researching into different aspects of the style and what influences and inspires her into the trend and clothes she wears.. I will be researching into the 80′s and other influences i think her trend comes from …..which will contain sketches , colour research and different samples..
